French courses : Courses for teachers

Our French teachers programme is aimed at teachers of primary or secondary level, or adult public. The course provides you with the instructional methods and tools to create engaging activities to enhance your students’ motivation. Lesson time is divided into perfecting your own knowledge, usage of the language and how to deliver effective, stimulating and exciting lessons to your students.

 

For European teachers, this course is eligible for grants through the Coménius and Grundtvig program:

The objectives of the training include :

To allow participants to renew, expand and improve their teaching practices through modules and workshops alongside teachers from other countries.

To encourage the exchange of best practices through the rationalisation and analysis of strategies for learning and teaching in classrooms. To better understand France and its culture through conferences.

The training contents include the recent contributions of the teaching of the FLE and ‘actional’ perspective in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference, while taking into account the diversity of practices, public and educational settings.

You will be required to have attained a B2 level of French, as described by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, to participate in this course.

 

Pedagogical Organisation :

A total of 25 hours of instructions per week, including :

* Morning Modules: 3 hour morning sessions from Monday to Friday for a total of 15 hours per week
* Afternoon Linguistic Workshops: 2 hour workshops held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
* Civilization Conferences: 1h30 hours sessions held Mondays, Wednesdays and 1h session on Friday

Educational Resource Center
You’ll have access to the Institut Européen de Français’s Centre de ressources pédagogiques, with free access to the Internet by WiFi connection.

 

 

Additional training for French Foreign Language teachers offered on-demand, year-around :

 

Sessions for teachers of DNL (disciplines non-linguistic) – bilingual sections
Courses of 2 or 3 weeks: Perfection of linguistic instruction for French class – Immersion in French academic establishments – Compilation of documents and thematic dossiers – Conferences on civilisation and access to the pedagogical resource center.

 

Training for teachers, educational counselors, and pedagogical coordinators
Objectives: to facilitate the transformation and renewal of educators and instructional techniques, to develop participants’ aptitude to organise and oversee pedagogical teams, and to make use of industry networks. Meetings and exchanges “on the field”, immersion in French academic establishments.

 

Intensive courses “à la carte”
Group courses on demand. FOS methodology – Medical French – Pedagogical use of the TICE – Instruction of children – Children’s Literature for the FLE classroom – Contemporary France – Institutions and Politics – Europe and the region – The contemporary French novel – French as a Foreign Language and the integration of new methods.
