Student Zone : Social Events
All year long Montpellier has something to offer in terms of events, sporting activities and cultural soirees for you to take part in. So no matter what time of the year you are planning to stay with us there is always something going on.
Our cultural events team works closely with the teaching staff to maintain a link between your studies and some of the social events that you will take part in to ensure that you get the best possible opportunity to practice the language in informal settings.
However, we appreciate that ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ so many of the evenings we host are purely for your entertainment and relaxation.
As an example of our efforts to entertain you we hold regular DJ evenings at the school and local bars, where you can dance the night away with fellow students and teachers. We also hold French cinema evenings on the big screen in the school each week, and regular group nights to go bowling or eat at the various restaurants in the city.
During the warmer evenings, after classes you will often find our staff and students relaxing at ‘apero’ hour outside the numerous bars and cafes near the school, which everyone is welcome to join.
Montpellier is a musical city and has a whole host of outdoor events, concerts and festivals during the year. Our cultural events team will regularly update you with what’s going on and any events that are a ‘must’ to go to.
And each year from the beginning of July to the beginning of September the city hosts the free event “Estival” every Friday evening. Here you will find a main stage for musicians and dance acts, and also various tents where you can buy a range of food and wine from the region well into the early hours. It’s always great fun and is a regular favourite with our students.
We could go on about all of the events that take place here in the city but you’ll just have to wait see when you get here.
