Weekends are undoubtedly the most waited moment of many, and while on Saturdays we take advantage of doing thousands of things, Sundays tend to be much calmer, with relaxed plans that help us to fill ourselves with energy to begin a new week with the best mood possible. Sundays are perfect for sleeping up late, go around with no hurry and share some time with friends, and which better plan than get together to enjoy a good brunch. In Montpellier there are many places that offer different brunch plans and we did a compilation so that you can plan a visit to some of these sites.
Ma Première Cantine
Located in the Place Jean Jaurès, this restaurant offers brunchs not only on Sundays but also on Saturdays and that is a good thing to know. The brunch menu consists of Oeuf à la Coque, various breads, including croissants and pain au chocolate, fresh fruit juice, hot drinks, yogurt, jams and also a salty dish composed of handmade smoked salmon and a variety of cheeses and charcuterie.
Beehive
Located in the Quartier St. Roch, Beehive is a small piece of England in Montpellier. Although they do not offer a brunch menu, it is the perfect place to taste an English breakfast, which, of course, is super complete. Red beans in tomato sauce, bread with butter, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding, bacon, sausage, fried eggs and hash brown (potato based), all in one dish. Here you just have to come with a lot of appetite.
La Panacée
The artistic space of La Panacée is one of the most popular in the city thanks to the large number of events they propose and in their cafe they offer a special brunch on Sundays for those who want to enjoy a different time and more if the days are sunny, when it is possible to rejoice on their terrace. The good thing about their brunch is that it’s a buffet with the perfect mix between salty and sweet dishes, accompanied by a hot drink and fruit juice.
Napoleon Dynamite
At the Place de la Canourgue, one of our students’ favorite places, you will find this pleasant place, which, like Ma Première Cantine, offers brunches on Saturdays and Sundays from 11: 30hrs. to 3:00 p.m. Here the main specialty is the Superbowl, a dish that mixes the richest and most nutritious ingredients and that vary weekly. This accompanied by homemade granola or brioche, fresh fruit juice and a hot drink.
La Baraquette
The Marché de Lez is one of the favorite places to spend the weekend in the city and there on Sundays the restaurant La Baraquette offers brunch from 11:30 hrs. to 3:30 p.m. They give the option of a open buffet, salty and sweet, or à la carte, where it is possible to choose between a salad, omelletes or eggs Benedict, a dessert and a hot drink.
Le Réfectoire
Located in the Quartier Les Arceaux, the brunchs of Le Reféctorie are special and are organized once a month and it is necessary to make a previous reservation. It is a totally French brunch and its menu, consisting of about six different dishes accompanied by hot drinks and fresh fruit juice, changes in each edition but always is a delicious surprise for the palate.
